Description:
Cinnamyl cinnamate or cinnamyl ester of cinnamic acid, also known as styracin, C18H1602, is found in storax, also in the oils of hyacinth , xanthorrhoea resin, Peru balsam and Honduras balsam. You can find it in the market mostly in white to pale yellow crystal with floral aroma.It immiscible with water and glycerol, dissolved in organic solvent, such as ethyl alcohol (1:20), diethyl ether and benzene. Some one also call it as cinnaic acid cinnamyl ester, 3-phenylprop-2-en-1-yl 3-phenylprop-2-enoate and (2E)-3-phenylprop-2-en-1-yl (2E)-3-phenylprop-2-enoate. Cinnamyl cinnamate is obtained by long-term reaction of ethanol and cinnamaldehyde in anhydrous diethyl ether. It also can be got from styrax, Lauric acid and Cinnamyl esterification.
Application of Cinnamyl Cinnamate:
Cinnamyl cinnamate is a natural phenylpropanoid found in the barks of Cinnamomum cassia Presl. It is used as a fragrance ingredient. It is excellent as a blending agent and one of the best non-musk fixatives, especially useful for floral fragrances. Cinnamyl cinnamate is a concentrated aromatic and flavor ingredient which may be used in flavor and fragrance compounds according to legal and IFRA or FEMA GRAS/FDA guidelines. It tastes slightly sweet aroma of resin.
Generally, it can be used as edible spices, which is mainly used for a variety of fruit flavor of fixed deodorant. And it also can be used as a scent of carnation, hyacinth, tuberose, Susan Blue, sandalwood, lily of the valley.
Storage:
Providing storage is as stated on the product vial and the vial is kept tightly sealed, the product can be stored for up to 24 months(2-8 degrees Celsius).
Wherever it is possible, you should prepare and use solutions on the same day. However, if you need to make up stock solutions in advance, we recommend that you store the solution as aliquots in tightly sealed vials at -20 degrees Celsius. Generally, these will be usable for up to two weeks. Before use, and prior to opening the vial we recommend that you allow your product to equilibrate to room temperature for at least 1 hour.
